Kalimah Fergus Ayele is a high school chemistry teacher originally from Brooklyn, New York. She spent some of her childhood in St. Croix and attended a New England boarding school before earning her BS in Chemistry from Stanford University.
She fell in love with Africa when she served as a US Peace Corps Volunteers in Morogoro, Tanzania and vowed to return. She did so after completing her Masters in Secondary Science Education at Columbia University and teaching in the New York Public School system for almost 10 years. She currently teaches high school chemistry in an International School in Africa.
